SAFETY Safety is important at our resort; we are walled in on 4 sides and have keypad entry to bathrooms and common areas. POOL AND THERAPEUTIC SPA The swimming pool area is located adjacent to the club house and Ramada areas, surrounded by a security fence. The pool is 43 feet in length and 24 feet at the widest point. The spa is 10 feet in diameter and can comfortably seat 10 adults. PUTTING GREEN Beautiful putting green for our golf enthusiasts. ONSITE OBSERVATORY Our onsite university grade telescope, housed in our observatory, is free to our guests. BANQUET HALL To better serve our valued guests, our 2,400 sq. ft. building contains a full kitchen, a stage and is fully furnished to accommodate banquets, meetings, large parties and games. GREAT FOR RALLIES!! LAUNDRY Our laundry room, located in the clubhouse, consists of eight commercial Maytag stacked washer/dryer units. Each unit consists of a full-size high-efficiency washer and a full-size dryer. Our laundry room also has a large Formica counter and ironing board. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our facilities! Pickle-Ball Court Outdoor Pickle-Ball court. Fun for all ages, friends, and family. EXERCISE ROOM The Exercise Room is located in the club house. It consists of a universal gym, treadmills, two stationary bicycles and an elliptical machine. The north wall sports a set of large mirrors. WOOD AND HOBBY SHOP The woodshop is equipped with a band saw, compound miter saw, table saw, drill press and various hand tools. Good working environment. #### Butterfield Guest Rules & Regulations The management of Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory wishes you a wonderful stay. Our Park rules have been put into place with the intention of providing an enjoyable experience for you and your neighbors.                  Violation of these rules could mean early departure without a refund.   Winter office Hours:                    Monday - Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - Sunday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM  Summer Office Hours:                Monday – Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Sunday 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM                WE DO NOT GUARANTEE SITE ASSIGNMENTS. THERE IS ALWAYS A POSSIBLITY THAT YOU COULD BE MOVED TO ANOTHER SITE IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE ALL RESERVATION REQUESTS. All sites rental fees are due and payable in advance. Resort management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.  Guests must be 21 or older to register for an RV site or rent a park model. All RV’s must be RVIA or RVIC approved before entering the Resort. Owners must possess a current registration and be able to show proof of RV insurance.  Monthly tenants MUST have a "tow-vehicle" on the property at all times and cannot be "towed in" without a vehicle on the property. Only fully self-contained recreational vehicles are allowed. All RVs must register upon arrival. Check-out time is 11:00 am.  If you want to stay longer, please come to the office before 10:00 am to extend your stay. No refunds for early departure You are not permitted to cut or trim any trees. If you back into the tree and cause any branch breakage, you will be charged a $25.00 damage fee. You must notify the office, and the decision will be made if the tree needs to be trimmed Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult in all areas of the park. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the spa. Children of any age are not to use computers without an adult in the room supervising them. No Children in the exercise area. Skateboards, rollerblades, hoverboards, scooters, go karts, remote/radio-controlled devices are not permitted in the park. Storage under and around RVs is limited to a few items and must be kept neat: (i.e., hitch components, coolers, folding chairs, ladder). Management will determine what constitutes storage violations and that determination may be affected by the overall appearance of the site. Gas cans of any size are prohibited. As with storage of personal items overall aesthetics will be considered by Management in making the determination of a violation. Management will provide guests with a written violation notice of their site and guests will be given a timeline of 24 hours to address the violation(s). Some violations will require immediate attention and will not be given a 24-hour timeline. Failure to do so will result in eviction. Please DO NOT leave trash outside. (We do not want to tempt the Javelinas and Coyotes). Outside trash cans on sites are prohibited. Dumpsters are available for household garbage only. Absolutely NOTHING may be thrown over the perimeter walls or into any of the washes (arroyos). Trash is to be placed in waste containers located at the exit and the rear of the Resort. Resort waste containers cannot accommodate large items. Guests are to dispose of large items elsewhere outside of the Resort. Do not dispose of hazardous waste items anywhere in the Resort. The Resort Speed Limit is 5 MPH. Remember, only you can prevent speed bumps. Vehicles must be parked in your assigned site and not on vacant sites or the street. Visitors of guests are welcome and must sign in at the front desk before closing and they must park on your site, or up front in the overflow parking. No more than one RV and two vehicles per site. If that is a problem, please check with the office. Overnight guests must be registered in the office. There is a $5.00 per night charge for each guest. Tent camping, pop-up tents, sleeping in cars or outside of the RV is prohibited. Tow dollies should be confined to your site and backed under the rear of your rig. Cargo vans, vehicle haulers, ATV’s and motorcycles are allowed, space permitting, if they fit into the trailer regulations. We have a limited storage space available; please check with the office. Check with management before securing anything into the ground. If you damage any lines or wires in the process, you may be charged for repairs. Cutting or trimming on any of the trees is prohibited. Quiet hours are 10:00 pm – 6:00 am. “Quiet time” is between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. Quiet-time evening hours may be extended for Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory sponsored events taking place at the Banquet Hall as determined by the General Manager.  Unless there is a power outage, the operation of generators is not allowed at any time in the Resort. Pool hours are 8:00 am – 9:00 pm. A resident must accompany all guests while using pool facilities. Swimsuits and proper protection, if needed, must be worn. Please observe the posted pool rules. You must be a proficient swimmer or be accompanied by a proficient swimmer to be in our pool area. Benson city law requires your sewer hose to be securely attached with a donut or screw in type adapter, and the hose must be off the ground. Pets are welcome (there are some breed restrictions). The limit on pets is 3 only. The pet fee is $2.00 per day per pet. We do not allow Pitbulls (or most Bully-Breeds), Rottweiler, wolf (breed) hybrid or any aggressive dogs. Please keep pets on a secure leash. Pets are not allowed in any indoor communal areas. Pets are not allowed in the pool area. Take pets into designated pet areas and clean up after them, no matter where they do their business. It is the law. Do not leave them outside unattended. Also, we do not take kindly to barking dogs. If you do not follow these rules, you will be asked to kennel your pet outside the Resort or leave without a refund. Vehicles must be in running order and currently registered. You must have the vehicle to tow your trailer or fifth wheel in, on site. Washing vehicles or RVs requires a wash permit – $15.00 for a car or truck and $25.00 for an RV. Permits can be purchased in the office. Using a generator is not allowed (except in emergencies). Wheel covers must be of a type specifically designed for RVs. No tarps, wood or cardboard may be used. All RV’s and personal vehicles must be capable of being moved within 24-hour notice. If an owner cannot move their vehicle or RV, the owner must have it moved by a third party, at the owner’s expense. Vehicles must be parked on your assigned site or in designated parking areas only. Parking or driving on another site is prohibited. Vehicles parked in violation of these rules are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense. Use of firearms, lethal weapons, fireworks, slingshots, pellet or BB guns, bow and arrows are not allowed at any time. No open fires, fire rings, chimneys, etc., except for propane or charcoal. NO smoking or vape products in any of our buildings (including the bathrooms). The Resort and Resort management are not responsible for loss, damage or claims for damages to property of guests due to fire, theft, wind, rain, hail, accident, or any Acts of God. Accidents do happen; HOWEVER, we reserve the right to seek reimbursement for malicious or blatant destruction of any Resort property. There will be a minimum $200.00 repair charge if anyone drives, over or into a Water Riser. Disregard for any of the above rules will be grounds for terminating a guest’s stay WITHOUT REFUND. Management reserves the right to add or to change these rules as circumstances require. Rents are due and payable at the time of check-in. Electric meters will be read at the month end and payment is due on the same day. Meters will also be read prior to departure and are payable upon checkout. We do supply internet to our guests, however, not for streaming. If you would like to purchase Wi-Fi for streaming, the Wireless internet is provided by Clearwave Solutions, you may do so at your own expense. Contact them directly at getclearwave.com/parks. Downloading of copyrighted material is prohibited. Any fines or legal costs imposed for violation of this provision shall be the sole responsibility of the violator who agrees to pay all such expenses. Thank you for being courteous to others by protecting our airwaves. Guests use the Resort facilities and amenities at their own risk. The Resort is not responsible for loss or damage due to fire, accident, theft, weather, or catastrophic events. Open and obvious conditions – The Resort is not responsible for guests who hit, drive into, bump into, fall or trip into open and obvious structures such as trees, shrubs, fences, fire hydrants with vehicles or by person. These conditions do not carry warnings because the “obviousness” of the danger is sufficient. As a guest/visitor of the park, you hereby release the park, its owners, its managers, employees and other Resort personnel from all responsibility or liability for all loss, damage, or injury to you or to your property, even injury resulting in death while participating in any or all activities. You understand that your participation in any or all activities is at your own risk. You assume full responsibility for the risk of personal injury or property damage, loss, or death occurring because of your participation in any or all activities. Common courtesy will prevail between all people in the Resort. Any profanity, threatening behavior, or hostile actions or any type of discrimination/racism directed at Resort personnel or other guests are prohibited. Anyone engaging in such activity will be evicted from the Resort. Any guest whose actions interfere with the operation of the Resort will be evicted. All outside visitors and visitors of residents must sign in at the office before entering the property. All visitors and vendors are responsible for abiding by Resort rules and policies. Any person who fails to adhere to Resort rules and policies may be evicted from the Resort at the sole discretion of Resort management. These rules and policies supersede any previous rules or policies previously written or discussed. The Resort reserves the right to make changes to the rules and policies at any time, without prior notice. We require that pets always remain tethered or on a leash, this includes cats and that you pick up after your pet. We are sorry, but pets are not allowed in rental Park Model units. Is your Resort 55+ only? No. In the summer season our Resort is the perfect "Base Camp" for family vacationers to enjoy the many wonderful attractions Southwest Arizona has to offer. In the winter season our guests are predominantly Snowbirds that come to our Resort to escape the colder northern climate. Do you have park models available for rent or for sale? Yes. Please visit our Park Model Page or call for more information. Do you charge for the Astronomy Lectures or Telescope Viewing? We offer a nightly Telescope Viewing Show (weather permitting) no charge for our registered guests. We do, however, charge a small fee of $5.00 for anyone outside of the resort. Do you have accommodations for rallies? Yes. Our sites are approx. 30 X 53 feet. Our Banquet Hall will accommodate 129 guests for meetings as well as for dinner. Do you have any golf courses nearby? Yes. San Pedro Golf Course is within one mile from our Resort. It is a par 72 championship course. Is there an RV repair nearby? Yes. There are several garages within a few blocks of our Resort equipped to take care of your RV repairs. There are also local mobile repair services available for minor repairs. Do you have paved streets? Yes. Our streets are 28 feet wide. How big are your sites? Our smallest sites are at least 50 ft. deep by 30 ft. wide. 50 of our sites are at least 40 ft. wide. Do you have telephone hook-ups? Yes. There are telephone lines available at every site for long-term guests. Just contact Century Link upon arrival. Advise the office if you are planning to get a telephone connection as the service technician will need access to areas within the office.   Do you have cable TV? We currently offer 13 different stations.   Do you have 50-amp service? Yes. All sites have 20-amp, 30-amp and 50-amp service.   Do you have shade trees? This Resort is in a desert setting. History The City of Benson was incorporated in 1924, approximately 40 years after the completion of the Southern Pacific Railroad through southeastern Arizona. Benson was named for Judge William B. Benson of California, a friend of the president of the railroad. In the early 1900's, the community grew along with the demand for copper and silver. These metals were mined in the San Pedro Valley and shipped to Benson for smelting and distribution via the railroad. The railroad established Benson as a transportation hub and it remains a transportation hub to this day. In the early days of the automobile, it was an important stop along the region's new east-west highway. Today, it provides important services to travellers on Interstate 10 (I-10) and functions as a gateway for tourists visiting southeastern Arizona. #### Observatory Observatory is now open with a brand-new roll-off roof and new telescope. The Observatory at Butterfield RV Resort features a Celestron 14-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. To attend one of our free nightly stars shows, simply sign up at the front office. Seating is limited to 18 people, so if you cannot attend, please advise the office so that others may have your seat. Shows may be cancelled at any time due to weather conditions. Our resident astronomers will entertain you with a fun and interesting experience, passing on a bit of knowledge laced with humor, culminating in a viewing experience of a lifetime. All our sites offer 20/30/& 50-amp service.  Rates include WIFI, water, sewer, use of facilities, on-site observatory, library including a computer with internet access, heated swimming pool & spa, exercise equipment, golf driving cages & putting green, wood shop - hobby shop, barbeque grills and pavilion. Call for monthly, seasonal, and annual rates. Pricing is based on two people per vehicle. The Resort has limited storage and specifications for utility/ATV trailers, so be sure to mention if you require storage when making your reservation. There is a fee for storage. Check-in time is 1 pm.  If the site is available, we do offer an early arrival for a small fee.  The check out time is 11:00 a.m. Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult in all areas of the park. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the spa. Children of any age are not to use computers without an adult in the room supervising them. No Children in the exercise area. Spring For anyone who has not lived in a desert environment, Spring in the Sonoran Desert is a wonderful surprise. The Sonoran Desert is known as "The Garden Desert" for good reason, WILD FLOWERS! Spring temperatures are generally warm with daytime highs upward to about 88 degrees. Most springs bring beautiful displays of Palo Verde trees, cactus, and a wide assortment of multi-colored wildflowers. About once every 12 years, extraordinary weather conditions produce a spectacular spring blooming of wildflowers that must be experienced to be believed. Summer Summertime is family travel time, and Butterfield RV Resort welcomes summer family travelers with a special area just for them. Daytime temperatures range in the high 90's in Benson. Golf courses are free from crowds and conditions are ideal for morning and late afternoon games. This is also the best time of year to visit mountain attractions in the area. Our mountain environments are called "sky islands" with several peaks over 9000 feet. Mountain peaks are forested with abundant wildlife and plant diversity. Nearby Mt. Lemmon has ski lift rides and a mountain village with excellent restaurants and shops. Fall Fall is a wonderful time to visit the mountains and nearby farms in Willcox. In the mountains, Fall brings a second blooming of wildflowers and delicious wild berries and fruits. Mountain Aspen trees turn brilliant gold, while apple and peach trees bear fruit. Maple trees and other hardwood leaves range from yellow to deep red. Local farms open their property to the public picking of pumpkins, apples and an assortment of other fruits and vegetables. There are many Harvest Festivals in the area during the fall. Winter The Benson Area is already well known for its ideal winter weather conditions. Most winter days are sunny and bright with daytime temperatures upwards to about 76 degrees. Winter weather conditions are ideal for daytime forays to desert attractions, golfing, and other outdoor activities. Low desert elevations are about 2,500 feet, while nearby Mount Lemmon reaches over 9,000 feet above sea level. This dramatic elevation change makes it possible to swim at the pool at the RV Resort and then snow ski on the slopes of Mount Lemmon, all within a few hours' drive. Winter is a great time to explore the desert portion of the Butterfield Stagecoach trail. Many ghost towns in the area still have a large number of artifacts to be viewed. Nearby Fort Bowie and Fort Huachuca also have excellent museums.
