Wildlife Museum
Founded in 1988, the museum has over 400 kinds of insects, mammals and birds
from all over the globe. Some of the collections are more than 100 years old
and all the species found at the museum were donated by various government
agencies, wildlife rehabilitation centers, captive breeding programs, zoos
and individuals.
Kitt Peak Observatory
Located 56 miles southwest of Tucson is the world's largest collection of
optical telescopes. The summit of Kitt Peak is at an elevation of 6,875 feet.
People with cardiac and respiratory concerns should be aware that walking
paths to several of the telescopes are steep.
Biosphere II
Developed by the American Museum of Natural History and the Environmental
Defense Fund, the Biosphere II demonstrates how our actions and natural forces
are changing our planet and its environment. At one time, scientist lived
inside the Biosphere for and extended period of time.
Titan
Missile Museum
Located approximately 20 south of Tucson in Green Valley. The Titan Missile
Museum is the only publicly accessible Titan II missile site in the nation.
When you visit the Titan Missile Museum, you travel through time to stand
on the front line of the Cold War.
