Butterfield RV Resort has an on site Observatory that is ready for your enjoyment! To attend one of our nightly star shows stop by the office to add your name to the sign-up sheet. We offer nightly observatory sessions (weather permitting) at 7:30 pm that are FREE to our Resort Guests. Space is limited so, if we have enough guests register, there will be a second session at 8:45 pm. The primary instrument in the Observatory is the Meade LX-200 GPS 16-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope . This is a university quality installation housed in a 15 foot diameter electrically operated dome. The building also includes a control room and work room. The observatory is managed and operated by our resident astronomer.
